Deductibles & Copays

Happy New Year!

It’s that time of year when you might have a medical insurance deductible to meet.

As many of you have noticed this last year has been quite interesting as far as our healthcare system goes. Many of you have already experienced lots of changes especially from those of you that need “individual coverage”. In California this is called “Covered California” which is also known as the Affordable care act or more affectionately known as “Obamacare”. As of now these types of plans do not have a covered benefit for Chiropractic care.

For many of you who have insurance through your employer, its likely you have a “group plan” Many of these do offer chiropractic benefits but will generally have deductibles or co payments to cover as well. For example if a person has an insurance policy with out covered benefit, the deductible is the amount of expenses that must be paid out of pocket before the insurer will pay any expenses. A copay is a fixed amount of the total medical bill that you pay when you visit the doctors office or when you purchase covered prescription drugs.

Whether you have a high deductible or high copay, don’t worry because at Pure Chiropractic we have affordable plans that can help you. Our goal is to always give the highest quality of care regardless of patient circumstances and we base Chiropractic care on what is needed not just on how you feel.
