Football and Chiropractic
In United States professional football, 77% of National Football League (NFL) trainers refer players to chiropractors for regular adjustments. 31% of NFL teams have a chiropractor officially on staff, as well as present at the football games. Most of the Detroit Lions receive regular chiropractic care. Dr. Sol Cogan spends one or two hours adjusting players before each football game and provides care for players during the games as well. “The players recognize that chiropractic adjustments greatly increase their performance,” said Dr. Cogan.
Fifty athletes were divided into two groups. One group received chiropractic care while the control group did not receive care. Here at Pure Chiropractic, Dr. Becerra sees lots of local high school football players. From sports physicals and adjustments on and off season, regular adjustments greatly help young athletes stay in good physical shape so they can play their sport free from subluxations. Adjustments help the nervous system function and top capacity, as well as putting things back where they belong after being knocked around in a football game.
A chiropractor balances your spinal column and relieves stress on your muscles, ligaments, tendons and nerves. Sports injuries nearly always jar and misalign the spine and structures near it. It’s not enough to wait for the pain to come and then head to the chiropractor, as pain is usually the last symptom to appear.
