Have you ever had a full body massage?  Does the idea of getting a full body massage scare you?  Perhaps you are a bit shy and don’t feel comfortable taking off your clothes.  I get it, I do.  So let me ask you, if you had to have one part of your body uncovered for a practical stranger to see, what would it be?  Your legs?  How about your back?  For me, in the area of massage, it would be the back.  So I’ve had the whole gamut of full body massages over the years, and for the most part they were great.  But with each one I can remember being uncomfortable laying there with nothing on under that sheet, and even though the massage was great, I wasn’t fully able to relax the way I needed to because frankly, I wasn’t sure just how covered I was!  I know this is a bit of a personal thing here, but I need to tell you to reassure you that there is a way around all this, so that you can go have a great massage and be comfortable doing it.  Massage can be very beneficial for blood flow and circulation, which aids in healing and the release of endorphins, which honestly, I need all the time.  I’ve spoken to a number people who simply won’t get a full body massage because of the fear of taking off their clothes.  So let’s talk about what a full body massage can look like without, you know, being completely vulnerable.

Dr. Becerra has specific parts of his body that really need to be worked out.  After adjusting upwards of 130 patients a week, muscles get stiff and sore.  Getting regular massages for him are a must.  As for me, a large part of my day is spent at a computer so my back and shoulders are always tensed up.  Alright, so Dr. Becerra customizes his full body massage to be his shoulders, back, neck and hands.  In this case, he wears bike shorts or even sweats to his appointment.  I personally need my back, hips, shoulders, neck and arms done, so I too can wear clothing on the bottom half.  The prospect of not wearing any clothes, or having your front massaged, can be a reason why a person will never get a full body massage.  So let me say that if that’s you, there’s no worries!  Feel free to be very honest with the massage therapist.  Tell her what you like and what you don’t.  You can customize your massage how you’d like!  Yesterday we went and had massages and then to dinner.  It was a much needed massage since the holidays and all that built up stress.  We go to Fusion Massage in Old Town Temecula.  Carol is great.  She’s got years of experience and we refer all our patients to her.  So I hope this post has helped ease your fears about getting a full body massage.  Try it, you’ll love it!
